Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. She is most famous for her leading role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The seventh season of the series was concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role in the show as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick got a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Madeline Wuntch on Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007), and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was an New York City native, the daughter Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald) who was an educator and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI, the venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian and with English descent. Sedgwick is a self-described Jewish, and she has claimed that she attends at Passover seders.
