Barbara Ann Corcoran

Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran soon exited the company. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank to date. By February 2020, she had completed 53 deals. The most significant of these was a purchase of $350,000 for Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children from a working-class Irish Catholic family. Florence was her mother, who was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing between jobs throughout Corcoran's early years. The family relied sometimes on the free food delivery from a local grocery store. Corcoran says that her father was drunk who did her mother a disservice and condescension. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after attending a Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed several courses in her first year of high school, was transferred to Leonia High School. There she received a grade of D.
